Hi, friends! I’m back! I’ve MIA this past week because I’ve had a busy schedule and a terrible internet connection. But what better way to redeem myself by sharing a very frugal hack with you?
Drum roll, please… A $25 makeshift area rug! Area rugs are pricy, right? My parents were long overdue for new area rugs. Their’s had seen far too many puppies and footsteps. Their house gets a lot of traffic. It’s where the family tends to congregate and celebrations always happen. There’s usually about 15 adults, 3 babies, 6 dogs and 2 cats when we all get together. That will wear on a rug! So they made a genius decision to get a carpet remnant from the local carpet store, so next time it needs to be replace, it doesn’t kill their soul so much. 🙂
Call any carpet store and give them the dimensions you’re looking for and ask for an estimate for scraps. Prices will vary from store to store, but our store quoted us $25, and it looks great!
You may want to consider having the edges binded. If the lines are not straight, or there’s fraying around or sharp edges. My parents we lucky enough that their carpet came in ready to use condition.
